5 years ago arguments were “slippery slopes.” Today it’s just Sunday in the news cycle.

There’s this Reddit community called polcompball, where they make comics and memes of different ideologies embodied as anthrised circles. And a few years ago, the polcompball people asked “what’s the furthest left ideology that could possibly exist?”

So they created this idea of the “off-compass left”, which was a far-left ideology so extreme that nobody actually believes in it. They decided it would be an anarchist who believes the laws of physics themselves are unjustifiable hierarchies. And wouldn’t you know it, this cat otherkin named Rayne took a look at this soulism ideology, said “based”, and became the first self-identified soulist.

Now around this time, I joined a postmodernist mystery cult through a godkin pantheon polycule. And they were saying some classic mystery cult stuff like how consensus reality is a prison created by the capitalist demiurge to control us.

And one day, a friend asked Me what I think of soulism. So I looked it up, and went “Hey, that’s what I believe!” And now Me and Rayne are friends and I run a soulist community on discord and write a soulist blog and stuff. So I guess I’m the person in the meme now.
