I got a cool body modification! I had genital nullification surgery because I’m ace and nb. I’ve got no genitals. I also take estrogen pills.

I’m also legally considered male but have big fucking tits. So I’m thinking about going streaking at a protest. What are they gonna arrest Me for?

Personally I think the government shouldn’t be tracking people’s gender, that’s private. The law shouldn’t discriminate, we should free the nip for everyone. And ofc I have nothing downstairs worth censoring, just a peehole and a regular old butt.

Yeah, this velcro asshole is cool and all, but needing both hands to shit, not so much. Us gen 1 cyborgs don’t have very much that’s neat.

Dad was gen 2. His brain implant stopped his Parkinson’s tremors. So like, we do have the cool shit, we’re just at the very early stages. Follow Deep Brain Stimulation research out of UCSan Francisco and… I think the other team was in Munich? Those are the folk to watch.

Dude the cybernetic shit is the least likely thing and even if it worked well, the worst thing to get. It’s always a trap, even in the fiction.

You like upgrading your phone? Being spied on? Spending thousands on a device that is designed to break every few years so you buy another?

You want your fucking limbs to be like that?

The best cybernetic limb would interface perfectly with your body. It wouldn’t need outside energy, and use energy from food you consume. It would give you an interface you’re familiar with, because you spent years learning how to use what you have. It would heal wounds on its own, not need repairs! It would perfectly relay sensory information to your brain as your existing limbs do. It would use nanotech to repair itself. It would be trainable, get stronger as you use it more. It would adapt to how its used.

…all of that is what biology is. Biology is inherently the perfect cybernetics after millions of years of evolution.

The only reason to ever get cybernetic limbs is because you lose limbs or aren’t born with them, disabilities and such. It will be that way for a long long long while. Games are extremely unrealistic about this. Anything you’d want would be closer to genetic modifications and biology than cybernetics.

Hadn’t even considered that. I have to unlock my devices to authorize a payment. How does that work with an implant?

lol. I would hate having to wear a glove all the time.

Edit: So I spent a little time trying to read about it online and pretty much their claim is that it only works if you get your hand close enough to the terminal. So basically the only thing keeping your payment information safe is distance. That would make me very uncomfortable. Wait until bad actors start embedding readers in places you touch naturally without thinking about it like at the gas station pump etc…

Please don’t give me a challenge like that. That’s (one reason) why I always say second [adjective]-est thing I’ve ever seen.

Also it gives people a reason to ask “what’s the first” and I can weave some bullshit story it’s really fun.
