Some websites auto reject cookies, it blocks some ads (highly recommend something like adAway on F-droid), and every time you close the app, it deletes all cookies and history

I have both, and have Focus set as default, it closes all tabs and deletes the history every time. If I want a website to persist I’ll open it in the regular one, so I get to choose 😬

Specifically related to the posted picture, the regular firefox mobile (and desktop) can be configured to not show your history inside of your search/address field, so that you can have your history without it being discoverable to unintentional inspection.

You can achieve the same in regular Firefox with extensions, configuration and private mode, but you need to put the effort and remember to activate private mode. Firefox Focus comes configured to try to maximise privacy over making all sites work by default.

No, go Fennec or Ironfox via Fdroid. Install ublock for ad blocking. Works the same and is open source.

Have you seen the better browsing experience? It’s on Zen. It’s literally on Librewolf. It’s on Floorp without ads. It’s literally on Waterfox. You can probably find it on Ironfox. Dude it’s on Ladybird. It’s a Servo original. It’s on GNOME Web. You can browse on GNOME Web. You can go to GNOME Web and browse it. Epiphany has it for you.

Fennec and Ironfox are improved versions of Firefox with better privacy/security hardening so picking either is probably preferable to base Firefox

We’re in memes, not OpSec. The average person isn’t going to care about that as much as they are going to care about having to sign into every site after closing a tab.

For the record I didn’t downvote you, but if I was actually being serious about opsec I’d say not to use anything based on mobile Firefox at all :)

              warning: info dump ahead
              1. Firefox mobile is inherently less secure because on mobile because it’s basically just slapping a new renderer on top of either safari or Chromium’s browser engine. This is partially because, everywhere except the EU, Apple requires all iOS browsers to use the safari engine under the hood, so it doesn’t make sense for them to develop their own mobile engine just for EU and Android. If you’re actually serious about opsec, just use safari on iOS, Vanadium on GrapheneOS, or Brave (brave is also lame tho :/ There might be a better chromium fork I’m not aware of)
              2. Fennec/Ironfox still have cookies, they won’t sign you out of things every time. The improvements come based on actively blocking more telemetry (and hardening it with things like always-https and DNS-over-https, and tracking blockers on by default)
              3. I don’t actually have a 3rd thing I’m basically just trolling at this point. Rule of 3s and all. Have a good day.

Sorry had it the other way around, it uses gecko but then uses the Android system WebView as a renderer. I think it’s similar in iOS (but with the iOS equivalent of WebView because of iOS limitations) Either way, mixing and matching like that is generally less secure
