I was abused by my christian parents.
I would like to live long enough to see humanity mature out of superstition and free the world from human greed.

“Of course I gave the hallucinating schizophrenic a key to my front door. How else will he make my bed when I don’t want to?”
But there are better choices.

This is the United States in 2026. People legally protesting domestic terrorism are getting shot.
“We were on the sidewalk protesting, and they were mocking us and threatening us. And as we were crossing the street, that was when he shot me,” Landis said at a demonstration Sunday at the facility. “Never in a million years did I think that would happen.”
It’s terrifying. How many more people are ICE agents and employees going to shoot? It happens so suddenly. At least this time, there’s no “weaponized their vehicle” excuse.
“I will continue to advocate for this stuff,” Landis said. “I got shot for it. I care.”
Wow! This courage is inspiring. We need more goodness in the world. We need more people who care.

I think he was a harmful hatemongerer and I am glad he is dead.
But I agree about how off-putting it is for so many people to continue profiting off his death. They are scavengers milking a corpse for all they can. It’s not about respecting the person he was, it’s about shamelessly exploiting him for their own gain.

“Ah, dang it, I showed up late and they’re out of masks. I guess that means I’ll have to use the voice-cancelling ball gag again…”
I have lived in the bible belt all my life, still trying to escape. People are proud of their beliefs even though they aren’t true. “Everyone is entitled to their beliefs” is the common sentiment, but it’s wrong. Everyone is morally obligated to align their beliefs with reality as closely as they can.
That’s where science comes in. It is not an authority, not a religion, not a system. It is a process we use to acquire and refine knowledge. Given the physical limitations of our senses and minds, it is the best we can do.
People need to learn before we all die of stupid.
