As a boomer, if I could go back in time, I would have emigrated to Norway: Norway has significantly reduced homelessness through a housing-led policy that prioritizes providing homes for all, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues. This approach, supported by strong political commitment and regular data collection, has led to a steady decline in the number of homeless individuals over recent decades.

The housing is paid by public money (taxes) and goes to for-profit companies (private jails). The imprisoned are then used as slave labour for other for-profit companies.

All according to the plan for wealth transfer from the poor to the rich

Don’t forget the multi-generational damage done to the earning potential of everyone who has gone to jail, or who is impacted by a relative going to jail!

It isn’t a country but “anarcho capitalism” which isn’t anarchist in any meaningful way but an oxymoron

“One gratifying aspect of our rise to some prominence is that, for the first time in my memory, we, ‘our side,’ had captured a crucial word from the enemy. ‘Libertarians’ had long been simply a polite word for left-wing anarchists, that is for anti-private property anarchists, either of the communist or syndicalist variety. But now we had taken it over.”

          — Murray Rothbard

and hell the word libertarian only was created because it became illegal to print anarchist literature in France in the 19th century.

It’s not expensive if you make them work to pay for their room and board.

Sure that may be a bit like slavery, but true freedom requires a bit of slavery…

They wouldn’t support locking the defendant up because there would be no public prisons. If you can’t pay the plaintiff and court, then you’re an outlaw and may be shot. There would be multiple courts, some of which overlap and conflict.
