I gather it’s supposed to mean something (though I don’t see any meaning behind numbers aside from literal counting and measuring), but seriously, what’s up with 67 lately?

Except it’s disrupting some fast food chains that have a menu item #67. For some, it’s possibly costing them revenue and harassing workers. Sadly it’s not something they can necessarily just laugh at or ignore.
This is like the lamest target for a moral panic I’ve ever seen. And I was around for the d&d and video game ones.
It’s not even that. They removed ticket #67, so it goes 66, 68,70 (because they removed 69 also). The order that people place their orders in
Even so, businesses wouldn’t just get rid of something, they’d renumber it
No 69? Not nice
Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. Some of the more recent memes have been very disruptive. Between the McDonald’s Szechuan sauce freak outs and Minecraft’s Chicken Jockey food fights it causes a lot of headaches for the poor people who have to clean up their mess. I’m not aware of any violent reactions to this number yet though.
How many restaurants even have 67 or more menu items that you can select by number? This seems like a very niche ‘problem’ for the news to be concerned over
The only ones that immediately comes to mind are Chinese restaurants.
The way I read is that it isn’t (or not only) about menu item number 67, but about order number 67 (i.e. the 67th order since the counter was reset).
Couldn’t they just change the menu so item 67 is something very high profit margin and not subject to supply problems? Doesn’t seem like a real problem.
It wasn’t the menu item, but rather you’re order #67 in the waitlist to receive your food…
oh, so then it was like a “get” with everyone spamming orders hoping to get that number
I’m not sure if kids were placing orders and then not collecting/paying for them.
Oh no a worker had to listen to a kid make a lame overused joke. Those poor people.
Wow look at you being all smart and clever. The pictures I saw showed a fast food restaurant with a crowd of kids, not just one.
Sorry that was needlessly snipy of me.
It’s just that feels like being exposed to obnoxious social trends is a very minor issue for workers.
We’ve all been there.
The horror. Quick, get me some pearls to clutch.
You can borrow mine…
That’s the only reason I even heard about the whole 67 thing, when it came up on our local news regarding fast food restaurants.
It’s ridiculous, and honestly I feel like I’ve wasted minutes from my life even asking, but hey, now I loosely get it…
It still makes little sense to me, but whatever 🤷
I admit I find it amusing, given what 6x7 is
It means nothing, except that the meaninglessness of it annoys boomers, so the zoomers and alphas keep doing it to annoy the boomers harder. It’s literally that simple
