Good.
It’ll turn cops against ICE be cause of their “always defend cops” bias. And it’ll cause a crack in their supporters as people pick cops or ICE like a football game.
It’ll turn cops against ICE
Maybe. Depends on whether the Thin Blue Line is stronger than Trump Love
We are talking about Illinois here.
I hate Illinois Nazis
😎😎
The gas station scene with Twiggy was shot in Warrenville on Rt 59, a bit south of 38, west side of the road. I believe it is still just barely identifiable by the dip in the curb for the driveways.
CBPCPD has historically been a warehouse for chuds.Parent commenter was musing on the effects of ICE arresting a municipal police officer in Illinois, wondering if that action would set police (not CBP) against ICE. I believe that is more likely in Illinois, especially in the Chicago metro area, because cops are likely to stand together in Illinois especially, and Hoffman Estates is also quite liberal.
I’m not sure where CBP came into this.
police (not CBP)
A very clumsy typo. I mean Chicago Police Department (CPD). But I did it on a cell phone and didn’t check my work.
Fair enough.
While this isn’t Chicago, I agree with that, and my point still stands. It would stand even more proudly if it were Chicago; CPD would most definitely circle the wagons.
I’m not saying this makes CPD (or any cops) friends, but it would make them the enemy of my enemy. I’ll take it.
It’s not, all law enforcement hate other law enforcement. Lookup police fight sheriff and you’ll probably be astounded to see how often it not only happens but happens on video.
I got out of a ticket for illegal mods in New Jersey 20 years ago. Local cops pulled me over on a state route, I stopped on an offramp shoulder. State trooper shows up and says fuck no. He followed me to the parking spot and said have a good night.
Trump Derangement Syndrome, you mean. The real kind.
Ain’t no love involved; only shared hate.
And it’ll cause a crack in their supporters as people pick cops or ICE like a football game.
I’m rooting for the football itself.
If cops and ICE fight each other, I’ll cheer for the batons.
Fascists used Wrongful Arrest
Fascists hurt itself in its confusion!
If what they are saying is true, that he overstayed a visa, a standard background check for employment at a PD would have found this on day 1 of reviewing the application.
Why is no one talking about pig on pig violence?
Someone please help me understand, because I don’t think I do. In today’s world, how would someone with no documentation be able to apply for a police job, pass the background checks, carry a firearm, properly fill out tax forms, etc etc etc.
I’ve had issues applying for stuff as a well documented citizen. I cannot imagine it would be possible as an illegal, especially with larger corporations/entities, but maybe I just misunderstand the process.
I think the issue here is that you’re trying to take ICE at their word.
They’re almost guaranteed to be lying.
You very much overestimate what a background check is.
A friend of mine had a pretty hefty security clearance. She was then going to get TSA Pre-Check which required finger printing (I think). On the phone she explained she was probably already in the system. They insisted they did not have access to any of those databases.
As for this? IF it is at all “legit”, then it is very plausible that the cop was here on a visa. So they could have been authorized to work when the check went through but are in the process of renewing it and dealing with all the backlog and stupidity.
Which is actually the case for a LOT of “illegal immigrants”. They got caught up in a paperwork hole and decided to not pack up their entire life and quit their job and abandon their families while waiting for the right stamp.
US paperwork is spread across so many unique databases and locations that it’s a wonder anything functions at all. It would be hilarious if trump somehow manages to create a uniform standard and location for storage simply to engage in more effective witch-hunting.
Well, there’s one facet. It seems that there are plenty more that would keep someone not allowed to work from working, especially for the police. Hell, I’ve been barred from working for not bringing in updated paperwork that was required every 3 years.
My knee jerk reaction is that this person is on the police force, they are obviously allowed to be in, and work in, the US. I’m just trying to get a better understanding.
Now do Elon.
Hmm, reading the article, it looks like he was just hired on. There’s usually rules about new officers where others are prohibited from ‘fraternizing’ during the initial training period, which makes me think this will be ignored/explained away. Cops are notoriously assholes to new recruits, and will throw them under the bus for anything they can.

As a sarcastic side commentary about Portugal this time of year…you know, let’s just see where this goes.
