It’s just a phase. They will get over their reluctance.
It’s just a phase. They will get over their
reluctanceresistance.(Sorry, I had to)
Transformers don’t deal much with resistance though…reluctance I was referring to magnetic reluctance which is the magnetic analog…more applicable to the transformer in this case. Thanks for the interesting exchange 🙃
Today I learned that magnetic components of the electric system use a different type of resistance. It’s not the same as inductance though?
Nope. https://www.ece.rice.edu/~jdw/435/book/ch9.pdf
Related but not the same.
Aha! Good point.
Surely you meant impedance?
This threads capacitance for humor is remarkable
It’s also shocking, if you’re not careful with these powerful puns.
I recommend meditation in this case. Ohm… Ohm… Ohm…
Oh Henry! did that one hurt.
Let’s just hope the daughter doesn’t amp 'er rage at the betrayal.
Say watt?! I hope she doesn’t blow a fuse either.
I’m taking a rest. These jokes are too much. Maybe just Faraday. Then I’ll be back.
Nope! Referring to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_reluctance
🤪
Huh. I live with a power engineer and he’s never bored me to tears with this one!
Honestly I don’t know much about these things but have been around electrical engineers! I looked up a few things I will admit 🙂
that costume is way better than it has any right to be
It looks like they ripped that thing right off of a telephone pole.
Is that why I have been unable to call out all day? Shit! Damn kids!!
When she alternates on her decision 50 times a second
US pic (note the wall outlet). That would be 60 times per second. And yes, I’m fun at parties.
Either way, that look of disappointment hertz.
You think there was resistance?
Watt, you think this is funny?
I did get a bit of a charge out of it.
Thanks Alec, now explain the refrigeration cycle again.
Gas is pumped to high pressure, then cooled into liquid in a condenser, then travels to a evaporator where it is metered through a device and allowed to expand rapidly changing to a gas. This extracts heat from the area.
Which gas?
Dealer’s choice
Methane! I want an old-timey refrigerator that could and would explode!
That outlet could be in China as well since the two-blade and two-blade+pin plug is commonly used among many others.
China mostly has combined type A, C and I plugs in my experience (Can’t see the wall outlet in the picture clear enough)
And nothing in that picture looks like it’s in China. From the house, to the kid, to the Halloween costume, nothing looks Chinese.
While I definitely recall seeing a bunch, was usually a safe the As/Nz type plugs were available.
Actually thinking back on it (been like a decade now), I recall a lot of them looking like the plug on the left where NA/EU style ungrounded plugs would work in the top one, 3 blade only for grounded equipment.
You sure sound fun. Would you like to not go to a party because it’s too loud with me?
“But daaad, I wanna be a three phase”
Maybe its serous. I wanted to be an ATM… and was… and won a competition with a costume I made myself. Kids are weird and can be very non-conforming to the trends.
At least it’s not sanguineous or we might have to take you back to theatres.
Well that was a shocking twist.
Yeah. Can’t wait for the next arc.
That is so adorable
Child: We’ll see who has the last laugh when you put you in the nursing home 10 years early.
Parent: As if you’ll be able to afford one for me.
Ha ha! Not if I pull the ladder up behind me!
-An entire generation
I hope she actually liked the outfit. She looks kinda uncertain
She looks more on the split side if you ask me.
@ZDL Poor child. This is one Dad joke that took a great deal of effort to deliver. Think of the therapy bills that await. Meanwhile, I’m sharing with my electrician friends.
You have to admire the dedication this father has to damaging the development of his child.
It’s the sacred responsibility of every dad
How else would the twisted sense of humour character trait be passed to the next generation?
Transformer, little girl in disguise!
Transformer, when it explodes, avert your eyes!
(Seriously though, the arc flash of a failing transformer can cause blindness)
She was probably asking to be Ariel and got Arial instead
Imagine if instead of Arial, dad went for Comic Sans
EXTERMINATE!!!
As much as I like a good trolling, I feel that ruining your child’s halloween for a pun is a step too far.
Do you think it likely, perhaps, that the daughter is in on the joke and the expression is this thing called …
ACTING!
(Genius!)
…?
A child can’t fake those eyes… Those are putting up with Dad joke eyes
Uh…
Have you ever been near a child, even?! 😮
My first thought was not this kind of transformer, but rather this kind and I was wondering how tf you make a costume out of it.
I told my grandmother I wanted to be Spider-Man one year and she went and hand sowed a custom for me with 6 extra legs off the sides and crocheted a spiderweb cape for it. Of course being a child I was upset when my mom told me I was wearing it no matter what. But looking back now, it was pretty funny and really sweet.
